Having searched the internet I was surprised to discover that over 3,700,000 results came back with my name. Oh well there goes the idea that I was unique. Lots of the results brought up Facebook profiles, LinkedIn, even Myspace - none of them is me as I have no profiles with these sites.

However I share namesakes with a planning lawyer, artistic director, an actress (hadn't heard of her until now, based in the West Midlands), a nanny (must have a patience of a saint) and a web designer and I am sure many others - dotted around all over the world.

Why I Am Here - The Road to Professional Development
I am quite new to the information and knowledge profession - recently qualified. Yay more letters after my name! However I've worked within a government library and in another life a publications centre for some time - not enough to collect a pension! Why am I doing 23 Things for CPD:
- to move with the times and get to grips with social media and its benefit for me in my day to day work and professional life;
- to gain more skills and experience - be ready (or catch-up with the web 2.0 revolution);
- to feel confident in using these types of tools e.g. blogging, Twiiter;
- to continue CPD outside conventional forms of training.
